Pantry Saturday: how one morning feeds a week

Volunteers packing pantry food boxes

By 8:30 a.m., folding tables are covered with rice, pasta, canned vegetables, peanut butter, and fresh bread. Clipboards move down the line. Names are checked quietly. Boxes fill.

The packing line

Each station has a job: proteins, staples, produce, and a final quality check. New volunteers shadow experienced hands for one rotation, then take a station of their own.

Beyond the box

Food is the entry point. Conversations at pickup often lead to referrals for seasonal clothing, senior check-ins, or school-supply support through our family programs.
